E-470 paid much higher construction costs for materials and labor compared to older toll roads built in the 1950s and 1960s. E-470 uses no taxes to build or operate the highway. In addition, E-470 has $1.3 billion in bond debt to pay off and tolls are our largest source of revenue to be applied toward the bond payments, as well as operating and maintenance costs. Our Plan of Finance is set up so that E-470 is responsible for meeting our debt obligations.

Toll rates are reviewed and set annually by E-470’s Board of Directors.

The Central United States Interoperability Hub is comprised of all the toll agencies in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado. The hub allows for customers with an active toll account to use toll roadways in those other states with a single transponder.

All toll agencies in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado*.

*The Northwest Parkway in Colorado will be joining the Central Hub at a future date.

ExpressToll can now also be used on toll roads in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas. This includes tolls roads in Austin, Houston*, Dallas/North Texas, Tyler, Laredo and Brownsville, Texas; and all the toll roads in Oklahoma and Kansas. ExpressToll customers will receive the same rate offered by these facilities to their electronic customers.

Please note: Non-revenue status does not extend to these other states.

*Houston (Harris County Toll Road Authority) will be accepting ExpressToll in the near future.

No. Central Hub Interoperability allows customers to only use the tolled roadways in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas.

With the Central Hub, Colorado toll facilities* will now accept transponders issued in Kansas, Texas or Oklahoma, including: TollTags, TxTags, K-TAG, EZ TAG (not EZPass) and PIKEPASS.

Please note: Some of these accounts have restrictions imposed by the account issuing agency. All questions about these transponders or accounts should be referred to their Home Agency in the respective state.

*The Northwest Parkway in Colorado will be joining the Central Hub at a future date.

Only transponder IDs, license plates and transactions will be shared via the hub. Only the pertinent information can be seen by agencies. Example: Colorado can see ExpressToll customer transactions and transactions that occur on Colorado tolled facilities. Colorado (ExpressToll) cannot see transactions made by PikePass customers on Texas roadways.

As you travel on other Interoperability Toll Agencies’ toll roads, the vehicle will be automatically classified, according to the total axle count, and the appropriate toll will be charged.

You will receive a bill from that toll agency.

If the customer is an ExpressToll customer, they should contact the ExpressToll Customer Service Center for assistance.  If the customer is from out-of-state, the customer should contact their Home Agency from the respective state.

The Central Hub participating agencies agreed to resolve disputes within 30 days. Extenuating circumstances could apply but this is the length of time most should be completed.

We advise customers to have a single transponder in their vehicle to avoid interference between transponders and possible double billing. The customer can pick the transponder that makes the most sense for them, likely to have the transponder from the area they use the most. Tolls will appear on the home agency account regardless of what toll road used.
