Council Member Jan Pawlowski has decades of experience in public service beginning in 1996 when she was first elected to Brighton City Council. In 2001, she became the first woman to serve as Mayor of Brighton in the city's 114-year history. Council Member Pawlowski previously served on the E-470 Board of Directors for eight years, two of which she was the Board Chair. In 2021, due to Brighton's growth, she was eligible to run for council again and now represents Ward 3. Council Member Pawlowski has been married for 52 years. She also serves on the E-470 Transportation Safety Foundation Board.
