Constantly Improving Your Journey

Now more than 30 years since the opening of the first phase of the road, E-470 is a mature facility entering into its second phase. Through a master planning process, E-470 is able to identify, prioritize and guide capital rehabilitation and expansion needs for the facility.

E-470 Road Widening Projects

Construction on the next phase of road widening began in the fall of 2022 and will continue on E-470 from I-70 to 104th Avenue to prepare for population growth in this part of the region. A third travel lane will be added in each direction to continue providing people with a quick, reliable commute with new developments planned along this 11-mile stretch.

New Central Maintenance Facility

Construction is underway for our new Central Maintenance Facility which is right across from the E-470 headquarters and service center.
This will house offices, service bays, wash bay, storage barns, plow storage, fueling stations, and much more.

In March 2022, the Board of Directors approved an 80-acre parcel sale to the Aurora Highlands Development. As part of the development, the sale impacted the existing Central Maintenance Facility site as the site is in the proposed area. E-470 plans to move in late summer 2024.
